This Is What It's Like to Attend an Auction of WWII Tanks

In this episode of MEL films, we attend a WWII tank auction held by Patrick Nerrant, who's been collecting and fixing up tanks for nearly four decades.

Patrick Nerrant has the “virus for tanks.” He means, of course, a “bug” for collecting tanks — his French interpretation of an old American idiom. Luckily for him, Normandy, France, where he lives and works, is a good place for a World War II tanks collector to be. Nerrant’s been stockpiling and rehabbing these old war machines for nearly four decades. But all good tank collections must come to an end. So Nerrant has invited people from all over the world to a public auction of his 13 tanks — likely the last time they’ll ever be in the same place at the same time.
